FAQ's
Does My Photoshoot Have to Be in My Yard?
Not at all! But honestly, your yard is often a hidden treasure trove of photo opportunities—think "secret garden" vibes without even realizing it.
Plus, staying in a familiar space keeps your horse chill, which is always a win. That said, if you’re dreaming of a different location, I’m game!
Just give your horse a little field trip to the new spot a week or two in advance so they don’t turn the photoshoot into a surprise rodeo.
I’m Nervous About Being in Front of the Camera. Help!
Totally get it—posing for photos can feel awkward at first. But here’s the thing: this isn’t some stiff family portrait session.
You’ve got your horse with you, and they’re the real star (no offence).
They’ll keep things natural and give you something to focus on. I’ll be there to guide you through, but not in an "Instagram influencer" kind of way.
Most people say they forgot I was even there—so deep breath, relax, and let’s have some fun!
What Should I Wear?
Anything that makes you feel fabulous and confident—simple as that.
Avoid jods unless you’re riding; chances are, you’ve got enough of those photos already.
Think smart-casual. or you could even hire a concourse outfit for a touch of glam.
Bring a few options if you’re indecisive (no judgment), and let’s make those photos pop!
How Should I Prepare My Horse?
Imagine it’s show day, but with much less pressure and a whole lot more fun.
Give your horse a good clean (but skip the bath on the day—damp coats aren’t their best look).
Tidy the mane, polish up the tack, and decide if you want to go full glam with plaits or keep it au naturel.
Oh, and don’t skimp on the treats—bribery works wonders, a pocket full of treats can be a huge help sometimes.
What If My Horse Decides to Misbehave?
Horses being cheeky? Say it ain’t so!
Honestly, a little mischief can add personality to your photos.
If they’re feeling extra sassy, we’ll adapt—move locations, take breaks, or get creative.
I’m used to rolling with the punches (or prances), so don’t stress.
Bring a buddy along to help or a gentle pre-photoshoot ride can also help burn off any extra energy.
My insurance covers me as a photographer and not as a groom, so as much as I love the animals, handling your horses/ponies is down to you and a friend if necessary.
What Happens If the Weather Is Awful?
Rain happens, but soggy photo sessions aren’t the vibe.
If the forecast looks grim, we’ll reschedule—simple as that.
I keep my schedule flexible, so we can find a day where the skies play nice.
Cloudy weather? Perfect lighting - Downpour? Hard pass.
What Happens After the Photoshoot?
The fun’s not over yet! After our session, I’ll dive into editing, picking the crème de la crème of your photos.
It takes up to three weeks, but I aim to be faster (because waiting is the worst).
I might share a sneaky preview on social media if you’re cool with it.
Once your gallery’s ready, you’ll get a private link to drool over your photos and decide what to snag.
How Long Do I Have to Choose My Photos?
There’s no rush—browse your gallery at your own pace.
When is payment due?
50% deposit secures your photoshoot, remaining balance for packages is due 7 days before the photoshoot.
For additional products like prints and canvases work will only be completed once payment has been received.
You will receive an invoice by email which includes payment details.
